Future Shock

I found this little interesting piece on the DEBKAfile web site the other day:

DEBKAfile’s Iranian sources report that Ahmadinejad also talked persuasively to Chavez about making a show of deploying a few Iranian-made 2,000-km range Shahab-3 missiles – first in Venezuela then in Cuba – as a menace to the United States.

I live in south Louisiana.  Venezuela is only 1800 miles or 2900 kilometers from my home.  If Chavez agrees to allow Ahmadinejad to have launching capabilities from his soil, I’m toast.  Cuba would be even closer.  I don’t like it and I certainly hope our military won’t allow it.

For the first time since the Cuban missile crisis and the cold the war, my life now depends entirely on the U.S. military.

And I thought hurricanes were our only threat.
